MER Students Celebrate their GCSE and BTEC Results

Congratulations to everyone who has received their GCSE and BTEC results today!

We are incredibly proud of all our students and the dedication they have shown throughout their time at the school. Preparing for GCSEs requires hard work and a willingness to embrace new ways of learning, every student receiving their results should take pride in what they have accomplished and the progress they have made.

70% of our students achieved at least five GCSEs at grades 4–9, with 64% obtaining Maths and English at this level too. This reflects the commitment of students over their years at our school to succeed.

Many students attained exceptional results, including Robert with 9 Grade 9’s,1 Grade 8 and 1 Grade 7, Akindu with 8 Grade 9’s and 3 Grade 8’s and Shivi with 7 Grade 9’s and 4 Grade 8’s.

Headteacher, Sarah Gibbs, said:

“I am extremely proud of this year’s GCSE cohort and these results are a reflection not only of their hard work and resilience, but also of their strong desire to be the very best versions of themselves. Today we celebrate all of our students for performing to the best of their abilities.

In total 33 different GCSE qualifications were sat across the cohort which saw students flourishing in all areas. These outcomes will give our students a fantastic foundation for the next stage of their education or training. I must extend a huge thank you to the staff at MER who have supported our students every step of the way and who should be rightfully proud of these results.”

As these students move forward to sixth form, college, or apprenticeships, everyone at Maiden Erlegh Reading wishes them every success in the exciting paths that lie ahead. We look forward to hearing how they progress over the next stages of their academic and working careers.
